Cozumel Ferry Passengers Stranded

Cozumel Ferry Passengers Stranded!

On Friday night, July 19th, about 150 passengers, with ticket in hand, waited two hours on the San Miguel dock because in the 9 p.m. boat was at maximum capacity.

Protesters said that the shipping company oversold tickets and they had suffered economic damages for the delay. It was not until 11:00 p.m. that they were able to board a ship to transport them to the mainland. Staff of the Port Authority said that those affected must file a complaint against the shipping company before the Federal Consumer (PROFECO); that they could only intervene if the overseas company had not returned the money for the tickets.
